A very rare visitor to our coastline, this little fellow had bird spotters from across the country grabbing their zooms and heading to the Geraldton foreshore this year. Black-headed Gulls have only been spotted fewer than a dozen times on our shores but this cheeky bird seemed to have a strut in his step and a quirky grin as he mixed it with the local gulls and paraded around the beach. He is thought to have been blown waaay off course whilst migrating between Europe & Asia but since it has now been spotted down south in Scarborough, I'm thinking he is just doing the Euro backpacker thing and here on holidays...
