With a rock star crop of head feathers, these cool characters happily share the beach with their other tern & gull mates in large flocks and colonies. The Abrolhos Islands off the coast of Geraldton is a breeding ground and home to large colonies however they can be found in most coastal areas around Australia. They like shallow waters and rocky islands, lunch on fresh fish dive bombed from several metres high and share parenting with their mate for the year... or two perhaps, depending on the loving vibes.
